Card Stock + Sticky Labels

Card Stock Badge Example

A6 Cards with punched holes & sticky thermal labels is our recommended set up. Cards are easier to source from any local print shop and you have more options for a premium feeling badge. Thermal sticky labels are inexpensive and can be reused across events.

Pros:

  • Easy to source
  • More options for a premium badge
  • Reusable across multiple events
  • Lots of sizes

Cons:

  • Require peeling and sticking to cards

image info Design your badges with some extra padding to the edges of where the label will apply. This makes it easier to adhere and allows slight wiggle room for a misaligned label.

Recommended Label Sizing

Our recommended label size is 100 by 50mm. This generally allows for 3 or 4 lines of text and a QR code.

Ensure you order the correct label types for your printer. There are two types: Direct Thermal & Thermal Transfer. We generally use Direct Thermal ZEBRA printers which require Direct Thermal labels.

Fanfold

Fanfold Badge Example

Fanfold badges come on a continous feed or roll. They can be blank however most clients will have them pre-printed with a colourful design. These are printed on thermal paper which is then run through a Zebra printer on-site, filling in the attendee details.

Pros:

  • Quick to print, no need to stick any labels

Cons:

  • More expensive
  • Takes up more desk space
  • Longer lead time

Lanyards

Example Lanyard

There are many different options for lanyards. Fully custom printed to simple colours. Our Recommended Suppliers have many options to choose from.

For best efficiency at check-in we recommend handing a lanyard to your attendee when you print their badge. Allowing them to clip the lanyard on themselves.
